Finding Strength in Stressful Times
This group is to help participants learn better ways to cope with symptoms from trauma, including grief, depression and anxiety. Many of us have had a stressful year; wouldn’t it be nice to emerge with some growth and meaning from it? This can be a safe space to learn how strong and resourceful you are in spite of all you’ve been through.
It is a coed group (all genders are included), for adults only, designed to help you find your strengths and coping resources, and to develop them further. In a group setting, you can learn from other members of the group as well as the group leader. This means that you plan many more perspectives on your behavior and thinking than in individual therapy. Growth can be much more evident, and you can learn from what other people share about themselves, as well.
It is not a good group for you if you are actively suicidal, abusing drugs or alcohol, or self-harming.
The group only Monday evenings from 6 to 7:30 PM. The price for the group is $30 per session ($120, paid upfront, for four sessions). I will provide a receipt for submission to insurance if you wish. The focus of the group is on how you have emerged stronger, wiser, and more resilient, which makes it somewhat different from your usual therapy group. The group will be held online in a HIPAA secure video service, SecureVideo. We will also focus on different coping strategies and qualities each week, such as resilience, grit, and gratitude. Please bring your journal to augment your reflection and learning.
